"Katerina Ancient Musical Instrument Research Institute" that restores and produces ancient European instruments from the Middle Ages and Renaissance, which are rare in the world, using paintings and literature as clues.
Creation in a life close to the soil. It has been 30 years since we moved from Tokyo to Yamaka with the aim of creating sounds that are born in harmony and coexistence between nature and humans. The Katerina Institute of Ancient Musical Instruments will also celebrate its 50th anniversary next year. While carefully recalling the many stories that have been spun in this forest, we will develop the story in four performances in Holt Hall and Katerina Forest as a sound of rich hope that creates the future. increase.

"Morning and evening dishes" Chiyomi Yamada x CATHERINA EMIW
A folk song project with songs by Chiyomi Yamada, who has been active in Europe as an early music singer, and new arrangements that are not bound by genre, using Katerina's ancient instruments. The world of Japanese folk songs spun by the fusion of medieval Western and Eastern sounds, such as the sleeping folk songs of the Tohoku region and the nursery rhymes of Oita.
From the Katerina Institute of Ancient Musical Instruments, Miku Matsumoto and Maika will play a central role in trying to integrate ancient musical instruments, modern musical instruments, and Japanese musical instruments. In addition to piano, bass and percussion, a new world of folk songs will be delivered in a 7-member group with Japanese drums and Shinobue, and Takeshi Maeda, who is also a member of the heartbeat.
